CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATOR
This is a job ad for a very attractive position for a Police Department at an Orange County beach city. The requirements are relatively low and the conditions and salary very good.
Qualifications: high school and at least two years of criminal justice, criminalistics, physical sciences or related college level coursework from an accredited college. (Lack of a degree may be subsituted by extensive experience and training).
The candidate needs to have some working knowledge of basic procedures about evidence collection as well as basic ideas of physical science and courtroom testimony and demeanor.
Duties: The Crime Scene Investigator main duty is to identify, collect, preserv and process physical evidence at crime scenes, prepare appropriate reports, and testify in court. Applicants should keep in mind that the position involves work on rotating shifts including weekends and holidays. Apointees for the CSI post are subject to extended shifts when required and call out on a 24-hour basis, 365 days per year.
Annual Salary: $49,700 - $70,000.
